* When decided and booked, surf at swedish web phenomenons or load your mp3 with internationally known swedish music.
* If landing at Arlanda, buy a SL travelcard already at the airport, notice the fresh air and start enjoying your free public transportation ride to the inner-city.
* If the long-distance train station is your first inner-city stop: luggage lockers, the pay toilets and a change machine are next to each other in the bottom floor, close to Pressbyrån (which is another place to buy the SL travelcard). Outside the station is a free urinal, at Klara Västra Kyrkogata, for cheap men.
* See peoples' clothes and use your camera! Remember there are sights everywhere, when you least expect it.
* Eat.
* Get an overview of the inner-city. Culturally by looking at this page and geographically by seeing it live from one of the skyline views.
* Party? Just know you won't find any sleezy area for it. Note that swedes pee in the street, and stay away from drugs.
* Sunday?
* Minimalism.
* Email 800825@gmail.com and ask me something? You can also ride the SL buses just to see stuff.
* When "settling" after the initial "rush", take some time to think about how swedes are. (If having been to Norway or Denmark before, think about the Sapir-Whorf hypothesis.)
* Try to distinguish different types of swedes.
* Götgatan and Stureplan get you pretty covered when it comes to people-watching. If you have been at those two places, you have seen the whole spectra of inner-city stockholmers.
* Sick of the inner-city? Get an overview of the Stockholm area and head to the suburbs.
* If it's summer, try to see one of the crowded or secret summer hang places before you leave. If it's winter, remember that Stockholm will feel slightly warmer and brighter in the social streets.
* If departing from Arlanda airport, see if there is some airport wedding going on.
* When sitting by your own computer at home again, it would be truly interesting to hear about your "heaviest" Stockholm memory in one of the comment fields.
* If thinking about becoming an expat by moving here, get an overview of a share of internationally known swedish brands.
* If you're gonna read at least one more page in this blog, start with this. Especially the lower part of the page has many more practical and informative suggestions.
