The swedish charity amounts given to the 2004 tsunami (five times more than to Haiti in 2010) reflects swedes going to Thailand a lot

Thailand charter ad in the T-centralen subway station.

DN wrote about the stats.

The swedish connection with Thailand is getting "stronger" in three ways:

* Young svennar people going there for the sun and the party.

* Whole families on charter during the six annual swedish vacation weeks, and sometimes even living there for a year or too. DN story about two families in their 40's who have quit their jobs and get sweet welfare-money to their bank accounts for studying, on a distance program, at a swedish college, while living in Thailand, in a beach house. (In the Ko Lanta island there are also physical swedish schools, for the kids.)

* Old single men who solve the problem by finding a woman in Thailand who don't mind getting married and moving to Sweden.
