Sweden and USA

(One could claim that THIS WHOLE BLOG is a "country comparison" with the USA, and it was hard knowing where to start, but I will just start small and then come back and edit the post whenever stuff cross my mind.)

Americans attacking swedish rudeness sometimes say that swedes behave like "robots" in the street. Judging from the movies, some swedes think americans behave like robots in relationships.

The american 2008 national election campaigns started 24 months before. The swedish 2010 national election campaigns started 8 months before. (Read expat from the US comparing the political agendas of these two countries.)

The audience at the Conan O'Brien show is cheering and applauding. The audience at the swedish copy of the show is only applauding.

In the USA the police read the "you have the right to remain silence..." sentences for you when you get arrested. In Sweden, some of the heavy american tv-watching swedes THINK that the swedish police are obligated to do that for them, when they get arrested (they are not).

Swedish advertisers think an american accent sounds like this. American advertisers think a swedish accent sounds like this (=german accent).

Both USA and Sweden are highly politically correct, but concerning different issues, in general.

USA have housewives. Sweden have not.

Sweden is "modern". USA is not quite as modern. (In fact, I kind of think like this: if I know that something exists in the USA too, I shouldn't write about it in the Futuristic Sweden tag.)
