First, general (and detailed) information on various "nightlife" fields:
Daylight dancing
Sports (football and hockey)
Swimming in the sea
Then, search for particular events (it's possible, below, despite the language-barrier):
The only event search sites in english are the city's official one at stockholmtown.com and Stureplansgruppen's for events at Stureplan only.
For FREE (but possibly lame) events only, check the calendar on the first page of gratisistockholm.nu (in swedish, but you can get an idea of what it's about, especially since we snatch so many words from the english language).
To find non-Stureplan events that permanent stockholmers - locals - go to, try this:
1. Simply send an e-mail to people who know and ask them what nightlife Stockholm is up to at the moment. If you remind them that tourists obviously can't read the swedish language in their products, they may feel bad and help you... The media people who know, are DN På stan and Nöjesguiden. The addresses:
info (at) nojesguiden.se
webbredaktion (at) pastan.nu
2. Use the event search at DN På Stan yourself. In swedish, but I can translate and lead you to the last stage. At the last stage you can see some basic event info, and hopefully figure out much enough to get to the right place in right time.
Instructions on how to use the DN På Stan event search:
See the pink "box". On "Guide" you choose the kind of events you want to search for (when you have, click on "Visa träfflista", and the events closest in time will show up highest in the event list). Translations of words in the "Vad vill du göra?"/"What do you want to do?" list (see, most of the translations is not rocket science...):
"Äta" = "Eat".
"Konsert" = "Concert".
"Klubb" = "Club".
"Teater" = "Theatre".
"Dans" = "Dance".
"Konst" = "Art".
"Lära mig något" = "Learn something".
"Se en film" = "See a movie".
"Göra något med barnen" = "Do something with the kids".
3. Read the following pages in english, to get to know about a share of the events:
* The Stockholm page on spottedbylocals.com. They don't cover the nightlife week-by-week, but they write about lot of venues.
* The nightlife sections of The Local.
Party pictures with the various groups of people:
Brats: finest.se and stureplan.se.
Indie people: Stockholm Smygstyle.
Sofo people: rodeo.net.
